— THE FINISHING DETAIL — ARCHITECTURAL TRIM — SEAMLESS JOINERY

The Art of the Finished Edge

Skirting boards and architraves are the picture frames of your rooms. They define the transition between floor and wall, conceal gaps, protect against damage, and quietly communicate quality.

At Aveexha, we treat these elements as architectural features—not afterthoughts. Every mitre is cut to perfection. Every join is seamless. Every curve is precisely crafted.

Whether you're renovating a Victorian terrace or building a minimalist penthouse, our joinery team delivers skirting and architraves that elevate the entire space.

Installation Depth Guides

Understanding what's involved at each stage of your skirting and architrave project.

📐
STEP 1

Removal & Site Preparation

We carefully remove existing skirting and architraves, minimising wall damage. Old adhesive and nails are cleared, and walls are inspected for repairs needed before new installation.

📏
STEP 2

Measurement & Cutting

Every wall length is laser-measured. We cut mitres and scribes with precision saws, accounting for wall irregularities. Internal and external corners are perfected before any adhesive is applied.

🔨
STEP 3

Fitting & Fixing

Professional-grade adhesive and discreet pinning. Scotia and beading are installed where required. For curved walls, we use flexible materials or segmented cuts to achieve a smooth radius.

🎨
STEP 4

Filling, Sanding & Finishing

All nail holes filled, mitres caulked, and surfaces sanded smooth. Your skirting and architraves are then ready for painting or staining by our team or yours.

SPECIALIST SERVICE

Curved Skirting for Rounded Walls

Rounded walls add architectural interest but require specialist skirting solutions. We offer two approaches:

  • Flexible MDF or PVC – Specially manufactured bendable boards that follow gentle curves seamlessly.
  • Segmented Cuts – For tighter radii, we cut precise segments that combine to form a smooth arc.

No squared-off corners that break the flow. No visible joints. Just continuous, elegant curves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about skirting, architraves, and Scotia.

What height skirting should I choose? +
Standard is 75mm–100mm. Taller ceilings (2.7m+) suit 150mm–200mm. We recommend based on your room proportions and style.
MDF or solid wood? +
MDF for painted finishes (smooth, no grain). Solid wood for staining or natural finishes. Both are durable when properly installed.
Can you match existing profiles? +
Yes. We can match heritage profiles from photos or an existing piece, sourcing from specialist suppliers or custom-cutting.
What's the difference between Scotia and skirting? +
Scotia is a smaller moulding (typically 15–25mm) used between flooring and skirting, or between wall and ceiling. We install both.
Do you paint the skirting as well? +
Yes, we offer painting and staining services for all skirting and architraves. Priming is always included in our installation.
How long does installation take? +
Average 3-bedroom house: 2–3 days for removal and installation. Additional 1–2 days for painting/staining if selected.
